What is Radon?
Radon is an odorless and colorless gas that can be dangerous to human health. Radon seeps through openings in a home. Radon exposure is the second leading cause of lung cancer. Any home may have a radon problem and testing is the only way to know if you and your family are at risk from radon. Take action today. Contact the South Milwaukee Health Department for more information, or to obtain your test kit for a small fee.
Testing for Radon
Radon kits may be purchased at the Health Department during business hours. The test kits are easy to use and provide all of the materials needed to collect the sample from your home. The fees are as follows:
- Short-term: $7.00
- Long-term: $13.00
